Phase 4

Litigation Management Phase

The "Active Court" stage. Managing complex legal procedures with military-grade precision.

Phase 4 Overview | The Strategy Behind Active Litigation

Once a case is filed, the real work begins. Phase 4 is where you manage discovery, track court deadlines, coordinate with external counsel, and position your case for settlement or trial.

Centralized File Management

Every pleading, discovery request, motion, and court order is stored in the Master Litigation File, ensuring nothing is lost and all parties have access to the most current information.

Deadline Tracking & Alerts

The platform monitors all court deadlines, including statutes of limitations, discovery cutoffs, and motion filing dates, sending automated alerts to prevent missed deadlines.

Discovery Coordination

The platform manages interrogatories, document requests, and depositions, tracking responses and ensuring compliance with court-ordered discovery schedules.

Actionable Worklists | The "How" of Phase 4

Phase 4 is where litigation becomes operational. Here's how your legal team will manage active cases inside the platform.

Active Litigation Queue – Managing Cases Currently in Court

Every case in active litigation appears in this queue, where attorneys track pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement negotiations in real time.

Trigger Action:

When a discovery request is received, the platform assigns it to the appropriate team member and sets a deadline based on court rules, sending reminders as the deadline approaches.

Statute of Limitations Alert – Ensuring No Filing Deadline Is Ever Missed

The platform tracks all applicable statutes of limitations and sends automated alerts 90 days, 60 days, 30 days, and 7 days before the deadline expires.

Trigger Action:

If a statute of limitations deadline is approaching and the case has not been filed, the platform escalates the alert to the managing attorney and legal director.

Settlement Negotiation Queue – Tracking Settlement Offers and Counteroffers

When a payer makes a settlement offer, the platform logs the offer, calculates the net recovery after fees, and routes it to the client for approval.

Trigger Action:

Once the client approves the settlement, the platform generates the settlement agreement and coordinates the payment posting process with Phase 5 (Billing & Reimbursement).

Integrated Technology | How Phase 4 Is Powered

MICMA AI™

The platform analyzes historical settlement data and case law to predict the likelihood of settlement and the expected recovery amount for each case.

MICMA AI™ helps attorneys make data-driven decisions about whether to accept a settlement offer or continue pursuing the case through trial.

Court Calendar Integration

The platform integrates with court electronic filing systems to automatically import court dates, deadlines, and hearing schedules into the case file.

This eliminates manual calendar management and ensures that every attorney has access to the most current court schedule.

The Transition | Moving from Phase 4 to Phase 5

A case only advances to Phase 5 (Billing & Reimbursement) when the platform confirms that the litigation has concluded—either through settlement, judgment, or voluntary dismissal—and payment has been received from the payer.

Automatic Trigger |

Once the payer remits payment, the platform automatically moves the case to Phase 5 and begins the settlement posting and fee reconciliation process.
